Wow, does my sis do great blog pages, or WHAT?

This was our third year at Westin St. John. We had several maintenance items that we turned in to the front desk the day we left. If you're in the unit, please let us know if they've been addressed!

Major
Dining room light completely non-functioning: it looks like, in a move to conserve energy, the Westin installed non-dimming compact fluorescent lights in the fixture, and blew the whole fixture. We ate in a couple of nights with most of the surrounding lights on so we could see our food. Thanks to Bro in Law for breaking our streak of "breakfast only" eat-in meals. The jambalaya was WONDERFUL, and the burgers and hot dogs were xtra tasty. I must say, the pool is home to a couple of mean grills!

Room security: The door had no deadbolt, and the end plate on the door had no screws. While I've never felt unsafe at this resort, it would be nice to have the security of a hotel room. We had the security guy in our room mid-week to open the safe, and asked him about it; he said he'd report it but no one came to fix it.

Minor
Light bulbs out, one in kitchen and one in the hall bath. Note that if the light had been burned out in the master bath (i.e., mine) this would have made the "major" category.

I'm sure I forgot something - did not keep a copy of the list - but these were the ones I remember.

If you haven't been to the Westin, let me point out that it's really a fantastic resort, and our unit is very close to the wonderful little pool you see in the pic on the home page for this blog. The A/C worked great -- my #1 requirement, 'cause the humidity is pretty high -- and the kid's club is the BEST, just ask my 7 year old, who believes that we should move to St. John and he can go to school there.

The island did have a power outage, but thank goodness the Westin's generator kicked in so we barely noticed it.

That's it for the report from the middle of the hill for now. We're of course looking forward to going back next year. And maybe we'll even eat MORE meals at the timeshare!
